In spring 2014, I embarked on a 10-day trip to Korea, with half of those days as a solo traveller. However, my love affair with Korea, in general, and Seoul, in particular, did not start then. It had its roots several years prior when I started watching Korean dramas seriously in 2009, and later branched out to Korean variety programmes. The shows ‘Family Outing’ and ‘2 Day and 1 Night’ , in particular, ignited my desire to see the beautiful Korean countryside. The K-dramas based in Seoul, featuring chic cafes and interesting dating-sites further fuelled my desire to step foot in Korea and experience first-hand its rich offerings.

I started this blog to share my experiences planning for the trip and while actually on the trip, with friends and other interested parties. I hope my tips and stories will be especially useful to those planning solo-trips to Korea; in particular, Muslim travelers who are concerned about maintaining their religious observances while on their journeys.
